Construction Management
The Construction Management approach which Ehvert employs takes a team approach to the construction process and is ideally suited to the construction of IT facilities. Under this process, Ehvert implements projects as a hybrid of the traditional construction and systems integration processes thereby delivering projects at up to 25% less cost, in 25% less time and at significantly lower risk.
By combining construction and technical expertise Ehvert can be more effective than a traditional general contractor in the supervision of the project, while eliminating the need for general contracting fees. On an IT centric projects it is estimated that only 10-15% of the value of the project is comprised of traditional construction components whereas 85-90% is comprised of technology specific to the data centre. Furthermore the work of traditional general contractors is complete when the facility is completed, but with technical environments other key vendors such as suppliers of network equipment or critical power or cooling systems will be required to enter into ongoing service agreements. This is more easily handled through the construction management approach where the client has the ability to fine tune these service level agreements directly with the specific vendor.
